This page needs some very serious revision. A service dog is a dog who is individually trained to mitigate the disability of his or her handler. In other words, the only dogs who are accurately considered service dogs are those who are trained to assist people with disabilities. The other types of dogs referenced on this page are more accurately categorized as working dogs; not service dogs. To call them service dogs is entirely incorrect. For more information about what a service dog actually is, as well as explanations of the various types of service dogs, please visit pleasedontpetme.com
